Last weekend, I went to YALLWEST in Santa Monica. This was my first time going to YALLWEST. I will for sure be going next year. I had so much fun, met a ton of people, and got super sunburnt in the worthwhile pursuit of ARCs.
I haven’t been to the LA Times Festival of Books since I was a kid when it was still hosted on the UCLA campus. I was ecstatic for the chance to go again, especially because I actually appreciate books events considering I’m a book blogger now. Despite having a nasty cold on both days of the event, I had an amazing time at the LA Times Festival of Books. I got to finally meet one of my favorite authors and I got A TON of cool stuff.
On Tuesday night, I bravely took the 55+ mile drive from my college’s campus to Vroman’s in Pasadena, in the rain might I add, for the launch of Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones with Marie Lu and Roshani Chokshi.
I have been to quite a few book signings and book launches now, but the Launch for Wintersong was by far my favorite. I laughed the entire time. JJ, Marie, and Roashni were hilarious and had such amazing commentary. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go. It was an amazing first event, of hopefully many, for me at Vroman’s.
