Book Reviews, Discussions, Listicles, More

In addition to the 24in48 Readathon happening January 21st-22nd, I’m also now participating in Diverse-A-Thon (When have I ever missed an opportunity to join way too many reading challenges/a-thons at a time). Diverse-A-Thon takes place from January 22nd-January 29th, and exists to promote and celebrate diversity. If you are interested in participating, you can check out this link.

I won’t be able to read as many books as I normally could in a week & my options are limited because I’m going to be away on vacation up north (where I get to see snow for the first time in 5 years!!!), so I’m aiming to just finish all the ones on my TBR on here:

images-1Title: Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk
Author: Randy Shilts
Release Date: March 15th, 1988
Genre: Nonfiction, LGBT, Biography
Pages: 388

One of my goals this year is to read more nonfiction, especially nonfiction books about LGBT+ history. Being Bisexual, it is really sad how little I know about the LGBT+ community’s history, so I thought a Biography about Harvey Milk was a good place to start. I plan on starting this book on the 21st for the 24in48 Readathon, but I know I won’t finish it because I’m reading two other books (both with LGBT superhero MCs. P.S. look out for my YA LGBT Superhero Recommendations post coming soon) that day.

tfc-01Title: The Future Chosen
Author: Mina V. Esguerra
Release Date: December 23rd, 2016
Genre: New Adult, Political, Romance
Pages: 355

I’ve bought a lot of books by Filipino authors recently, and The Future Chosen was one of them. The political genre and I don’t really get along, but since this is New Adult & Romance, it should be a winner. I will also be reading this for the 2017 New Adult Reading challenge!

28220826Title: When the Moon was Ours
Author: Anna-Marie McLemore
Release Date: October 4th, 2016
Genre: Young Adult, Magical Realism, LGBT
Pages: 288

I have been dying to read this one, and I’m also reading it for Diversity Bingo 2017.

91spdf5cwl-__bg0000_fmpng_ac_ul320_sr212320_Title: Fit (Fit Trilogy #1)
Author: Rebekah Weatherspoon
Release Date: June 3rd, 2014
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, BDSM
Pages: ??? (I ordered a physical copy, and don’t have it yet & the edition isn’t on Goodreads so #rip. But it shouldn’t be too long)

Being the dirty cheater that I am, I started out with the 3rd book in the Fit Trilogy first. Now, I’m backtracking. I’m SUPER excited for Fit. I loved Blessed, which had the main characters Grant and Violet in it. I can’t wait to see how they got together in the first place.

22854969Title: Tamed (Fit Trilogy #2)
Author: Rebekah Weatherspoon
Release Date: September 2nd, 2014
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, BDSM
Pages: *see problem above*

Ice Princess/Queen trope!!!!! Also, I loved the scenes with Armando in Sated, so I’m excited for “his” book.

If time permits & the book gets to my local library before I leave for my trip, I might also read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.
